Jul 22, Thu Lotsa Lakes Ride.  "B" ride, 24 miles. Explore some of the scenic north metro lake country. We'll roll past Lake Phalen, Vadnais Lake, and Snail Lake. Generally rolling terrain. Meet at 6 PM at the Phalen Park Beach House parking lot on the west side of Lake Phalen in St. Paul just North of Wheelock Parkway. Dick and Denise Stardig 952-236-0731 dick_stardig@hotmail.com Denise Stardig  denisedesota@hotmail,com
July 23, Fri {A} Carolyn Dullum will lead a breakfast ride leaving from "The Dullum Farm" in Harris. Breakfast will be at the Cafe Stuga in Harris, MN.   The ride will cover between 30 and 35  miles depending on the amount of construction encountered. Meet at "The Farm" at 7:45 am; ride at 8:00. Dir: Head north on I-35 to the Harris exit (exit 152), make a left onto CR 10 and head west for about 7 miles. Turn left onto Balsam Ave which becomes the Dullum driveway as you continue up the hill; the driveway ends in Roger and Carolyn's yard.  FFI: Carolyn Dullum  763-689-3778 of Al Mayer 952-545-4232 or on my cell 1.5 hrs before the ride.  Â
Jul 26, Mon {A} Easy, Social Bike Ride will start from the parking lot of the Beth El Synagogue, St. Louis Park. We'll meet at 5:00 pm and ride at 5:15. This 23 mile ride will be almost entirely on trails running beside Minneapolis' lakes and Minnehaha Creek. The turn around point and major rest stop will be at the Lake Nokomis Beach. We'll eat JJ's Clubhouse after the ride. Dir: Beth El is located on the east side of MN 100 between I-394 and MN 7. If coming from I-394, go south on 100 and exit at Minnetonka Blvd. turn left on Mtka Blvd (east) so that you cross 100, then go north on 100 and take the 25 1/2 Street exit to Beth El on your right. Coming from the south on MN 100, get off at the 25 1/2 St. exit. Dakota County bike ride beginning in Eaganâs Rahn Athletic Fields rambling in the direction of Rosemount. About 28 miles with a few hills. Lunch afterward at Doolittles. Meet at 10:00 and ride at 10:15. Directions. Head south on MN 77 (Cedar Avenue) and use the second exit on the south side of the MN River, Diffley Road (Cty Rd 30). Aug 2, Mon {A} Easy, Social Bike Ride.  See Monday May 3 in Loype for details.
Aug 4, Wed {WW} Looking for the Trail of the Alleygator.  Meet in the parking lot of the now defunct Alleygator's Nite Club in Maple Grove and bike scenic trails to Elm Creek Park. Meet at 9:30 am so that we can begin riding at 9:45. Most of the ride will be on paved trails. Since this is a "no map" ride, we will ride together as a group. A major rest stop is planned in Elm Creek Park. We will go out to eat after this 30-35 mile ride. Dir: Take exit 26 off I-494 in Maple Grove, head east on CR 10 (Bass Lake Road); turn left at the first traffic signal onto Sycamore Lane; after one block turn left in front of McDonald's onto 62nd Place which ends in the old Alleygator's parking lot.) FFI: Al Mayer 952-545-4232 or on my cell 1-hr before the ride 612-817-6814 a.h.mayer@att.net
Aug 6, Fri A Surprise Breakfast Ride. This"B" ride covers approximately 30 miles. Meet at 6:45 am and ride at 7:00 sharp, leaving from the Marriott Inn, northwest corner of US 169 and I-394 in St. Louis Park. July 22, Thurs {SNO} Country/Cajun Night of Music & Dancing  An evening of Two Step Country/Cajun dance demos, free dance lessons, live music, and public dancing in downtown St. Paul at the Landmark Plaza Park. Bring your own chair and meet at 5:45 p.m. near the corner of N. 5th St. and St. Peter St. (east of the Landmark Center).  Dance demo and free lessons begin at 6:00 p.m. Live music, by Kevin Anthony and the Twin City Playboys, and public dancing begins at 8:00pm ( previously listed as 7:30) In case of rain, the dances will move inside the Ordway. Meritage Restaurant,which is located to the east of the Landmark Center) is selling $5 crepes on the sidewalk ( weather permitting) on these music/dancing nights.  French crepes and Cajun Music - what a night! Carpooling recommended. Jul 23, Fri (SNO) - Theatre in the Round's production of "Come Blow Your Horn" by Neil Simon with theatre board member, Francine Corcoran. Show time is 8:00 and the discounted ticket price is $18 - pay that night (lobby at 7:45). Optional dinner at Town Hall Brewery starts at 6:00 p.m., diagonal to the theatre. The theatre is at 245 Cedar Ave in Minneapolis. Best parking is in the Holiday Inn lot (don't pre-pay;get your $5/parking discount ticket at the box office).
