The 650-member North Star Ski
Touring Club is
the largest ski
touring club in the lower 48. Formed in
1967, the club sponsors a year-round schedule of
activities including
day, weekend, and week-long trips to many
locations in North America and Europe. Share
your love of the outdoors
with friends

Lights. Ski the lighted loops of
French Park. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at
the VisitorsÕ Center. Headlamps
recommended. Three Rivers Ski
Pass required - $4/day or $50/

Come Ski
with us on MLK Holiday Weekend
at Maplelag North Stars have been
going to Maplelag for more than 35
years. Join us for great camaraderie,
hospitality and gourmet meals
{including a never empty cookie jar}
and superb skiing on impeccably
groomed trails. You ski right out your
door! The resort features over 70 K
of trails including 15 K of skating
trails. There has been a new
snowshoe trail since last year. This
will be a car pooling trip with A NEW
MEMBER PRIORITY. There is a hot
tub that accommodates over 30
people. There are two saunas, one
indoor and a newly renovated
outdoor suitless sauna { allowing you
to take the plunge in the lake }. There
are massagers over the week-end.
Sign up early, There will be a dance
on Sat. night and a talent show on Sun. night. Cost is $305 for adults,
$135 for kids 8-14, $99 for kids 4-7,
kids under 3 go free. The cost
includes nine meals if you arrive
before supper on Fri night. Send
waiver and check of $100 { payable
to Barb W}.
There will be no refund of the deposit
once the check has been mailed to
Maplelag around mid- December.

Volunteering for
the Emergency Foodshelf Network
One day a month North Stars do
volunteer work for the Emergency
Foodshelf Network in New Hope. We
usually work a three hour shift running
from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. All
North Stars and friends are welcome
to participate in this activity. Directions
to the EFN facility: If heading
toward New Hope via I-94/694 take
the Boone Ave exit and head south
to 54th Ave N. Turn left onto 54th,
the building will be on you right. If
coming via MN 100, head west on
CR 9 {42nd St.} and then head north
on Boone to 54th. If coming via
US169, take the 49th Ave exit and
head east to Boone, go north to
